weitere news von Adrian:
Greetings Freemen.
May I firstly apologise for this posting being a little later than usual. I am currently building a huge stage set and am having to put my life on hold until I have met the deadline.
I have received a few more personal e-mails regarding the weekend of our meeting in September so am going to endevour to fill you in as much as possible so that you are able to make all your travel arrangements with confidence.
Firstly, for those of you planning to spend a couple of nights at the Freemen Camp, details of the site can be found by following this link:
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2756
St. Andrews Church Hall is visible as soon as you turn into Hillside, Brighton. It is directly on the bus route 49, very close by route 49B and a stone's throw from bus routes 25 and 24. The nearest railway station is Moulsecoomb (one stop from Brighton main line station).
A map of the area can be found by following this link:

and a more detailed map of the immediate area can be found at:

The distance between the two sites (the camp site and the meeting site) is about 2 - 3 miles (as the crow flies) but because of some rather inconsiderate hills between the two, journey by road or public transport means that it seems further! One would have to head towards the sea then take the coastal road East to get to the camping ground.
Our German friends have found a site on the Internet that SOUNDS like it is describing Brighton, but as I was unable to access the site myself I was unable to confirm or deny this. For those of you inexperienced with this part of England, follow THIS link for some low-down on where you will be making for:
http://tourism.brighton.co.uk/
On this site you will find many photographs of our city and will definately be more clued-up on where you are heading and what to do to make a complete weekend of your stay.
Brighton is a very cosmopolitan city where vertually ANYTHING goes! No-one batts an eyelid even if you are prone to walking down the street dressed as a Master in leather and tartan!!! There are bars and Hotels to suit all tastes, many, many shopping opportunities in all directions (sorry to those fellas who are coming with their female pertners...but it's best to be prepared)! The North Laines are definately worth checking out as not many tourists are aware of them as yet and you can pick up some wonderful collectables there.
Pets are now allowed on the beaches...something that has only just been brought in for the Summer Season this year) and if you are particularly daring you can even go "Skinny Dipping" at the Nudist Beach by the Marina!
If you are Gay, Bi, Lesbian or Transgender, Brighton is the Gay Capital of England and you are guarenteed a whale of a time.
The Pier was the site of the Doctor Who Exhibition 2 years ago and despite the Time Lord not being there anymore, the Pier is a great source of amusement and fun complete with shops, bars, gaming facilities and fun-fair. I think it is one of the most beautiful piers in England and MUST be seen at night when it is illuminated by millions of lights.
I recently met up with an ex-journalist for STARBURST magazine who ironically, wrote about THE TRIPODS as his first project for them when he first started out. There is a possibility that he will be attending our get-together on 22nd September to do an update on the programme's following.
Well, that's all from me this week.
Have a great weekend.
Best wishes,
ADRIAN
