Hi there folks,

In last night's chat, it was just Will, Alick and myself… Hey, What
am I saying, Just?  Will Hadcroft and Alick Rowe?  It has all the
ingredients for a lovely evenings chatting.  Well, as great as it
was, there's not that much to report.

We had quite an interesting chinwag about the various religious
meanings behind Easter.  From a Jehovas Witness point of view, to
Paganism and even Christianity, all quite diverse and equally
relevant and interesting.

Once I had left and climbed the lil wooden hill for my sleepy-byes,
a member of the Freemen German contingency popped on, under the
guise of Madame Vichot!  She mentioned that she's pretty new to the
world of Tripods, but eager to join us in a UK meeting.  Clever Will
mercilessly pitched his Anne Droyd spiel to her, and hooked her good
un proper.  Within four seconds of just mentioning the book, she
was addicted, and had ordered her copy from Amazon.de.  Way to go
Will!!!!  I bet a million authors would love to sell their work as
easily as that… What a pro!  Hey, the premise is great and speaks
for itself.  A major publisher would have to be mad to turn it
down.

Sorry there's not more to report, but that's Shalot (said the onion.)

More next week tho.

Thanks again Will for emailing me the rest of the chat.

und außerdem:
but eager to join us in a UK meeting

In "A" meeting?
Gnah.

lol, hehe.

Greetings Freemen.
(...)
I am still receiving private e-mails about this year's meeting of Freemen in the UK. I have
just entered discussions with Jim Baker (Henry Parker) about this and it has been decided
that Brighton is the most appropriate place to hold it.

Now, I know that this may involve some extra travelling for a few of you but there are
some special circumstances that have dictated this. I am in the process of securing a very
special surprise for those who attend, and because of the risk that travelling would cause
it has been decided that our get-together should be close to the hub of The League Of
Freemen.

No dates have been decided upon as yet, and a venue is being sought to ensure that we all
have a memorable time. We are looking for a place that can provide food if required, and
where we can enjoy the sea air and sunshine (hopefully) AND be able to talk freely without
having to compete with loud music or live football matches!!!

This will definately be an event where you will require a camera, so keep watching this
space for further updates.

Have a great Easter weekend.

Best wishes,
ADRIAN

also... warten... hoffentlich nimmer lang!

I was thinking yesterday as I was passing Friday St in Westcott how
*Cool* it would be to have it there [Pref on July 4th = Capping day] but
it would be a really hard place for everyone to get too and theres not
a whole lot there really [Other than a small resturant/bar]

I'd be all for it if you have it down Brighton, Its pretty easily
accessable for everyone by Train or Bus etc + it has the added bonus of
Quadrophenia Loctation spoting + the bit where K9 went into the sea at
the start of "The Lesuire Hive* ^^

I like the idea of the meet being in Brighton.  If hubby doesn't want to
drive me down, I can always get a train.  But please avoid July 4th and the
next two weeks (if you can), cos I am away and I don't want to miss the
surprise :-)

Adrian,

I believe our friends in Germany want it closer to September rather
than, say, July. I guess some discussion needs to be entered into as to
the timing of the event (the month, which day of the weekend, etc).

----

If I have my geography right, Brighton is easier for certain people to
get to. So, good thinking Adrian!

I'd forgotten about K9 and Brighton beach, Kuma.

And I bet you're bursting with excitement over Life On Mars, which will
come to an end next Tuesday. I know I am!

Cheers,

Will H.

so siehts momentan aus.

Guten Tag Adrian J. Andrews,

well, we discussed this morning about the idea in brighton. afaik
brighton is a typical tourismn town, what means, it will become more
expansive for us. its allready very hard for some of our members, to
effort the costs of the travel/hotel/food. now, that will raise the costs alot!

also some of us dont want to have a "big event/meeting". we know, with us
germans this meeting will become a bigger event then usuall, but the
idea with the "pub" fitted very well with us. we love the idea, to sit
in a "real" pub and enjoy the venue and the british ppls. personally
for me it will be my second travel outside germany (last i went
aboard, it was with the german army, to Yugoslavia).

its anyway really hard to coordinate the ppls here in germany.
everyone lifes in another part of germany, some of em have jobs, some
not. some have families, so we also have to handle that too. its not
just that easy like "sit in your car/train and drive by".

we have to prepare stuff like:
* coordinate the travel to the airports. 3 of our 5 members dont have
a car, so they have to coordinate a driver or train.
* cheep flights (thats why we need a date asap, cause if you order the
flight early enough, its much more cheeper).
* getting cheep room(s) for us (6 ppls, incl. capped_dan).

also we have to think about our finnish friend, capped_dan. he also
have a LONG WAY to travel.

well, we will see. first we need a date. then we can check more (costs
and stuff).

greets, sven

It is going to be difficult to please everyone I am afraid, and as Adrian
said, he has very good reason (and I for one am very excited to find out
what it is) for the meet to be in Brighton this year.

Hopefully you will be able to find accommodation at a reasonable cost,
perhaps in a less touristy area.

I agree that it will be easier for you to make arrangements once a date has
been set, but please don’t push Adrian, as he is a very busy man.

@ all
[sarkasmus]Naja, 4. Juli wäre ja ganz genial. Ein Mittwoch. Kaum noch zu überbieten. *ggg*[/sarkasmus]
