So langsam tauchen scheinbar so nach und nach Teile des Bonus-Materials wieder auf.
Es scheint sich um verschiedene "Making off"s zu handeln.

08/13/07 - GIVEN - Jim Baker gave me (HP-Besitzer) a copy of a
---> 15 minute on-location tape!
This particular tape has the actors doing multiple takes of certain scenes, with the director calling out changes and retakes. In the lingo, they are called "rushes".
Apparently, more "rushes" may exist and be accessible. Will Hadcroft writes "The tape originates from John Ainsworth, a friend of mine who worked at the BBC during the time that The Tripods was being made. Once the VHS viewing tapes containing the raw material were no longer needed, BBC staff were allowed to recycle them as 'blank' tapes for home use. John found this rare material when transferring his videos to DVD. Knowing that I am a fan, he made the rushes available to me, and I passed them on to Jim Baker and Adrian Andrews."

Weiss einer, was daraus wurde?
Stuart Wyss wollte doch damals noch bis Ende August diese 15 Minuten zum Downlaod anbieten.

Making of" Season 2 Tripods
The 6 minute 18 seconds clip recently showed up on torrent download sites. It's a medium-quality video, with many obvious glitches in both sound and picture from multiple dubs and age-wear. I was able to run several filters and re-sync the sound, and the resulting file is about 50 megs. The featurette contains info about the special effects and models, as well as a few clips from Season 2 which show some heavy glitching. I plan to insert clean video from my own Season 2 files. I'm afraid I can't host the entire 50 meg file, but as preview, I converted it to a low frame rate (about 8 fps) and compressed the audio as much as possible. This file is now just under 3 megs and you can download it and watch it.(right-click, save as).
7/13/07 - FOUND: Another "Making of" clip from the TV show Windmill
The presenter, Chris Serle, hosted the Windmill show during the 70s and 80s from the Windmill Road BBC archives. This clip is from Episode 2 of Season 2 and shows how the tripod models were operated. It's a small file (1.5 megs) and the quality suffers a little from size and compression, but very enjoyable.
There is one more "making of" clip known- Graham Taylor, long time fan who sent me the original Windmill clip, writes "...there is another that featured the actual life-size tripod legs in the Blue Peter studio - I believe this also featured interviews with the actors but time may be playing tricks on me and Jim Baker should be able to confirm that."
In addition to these 3 clips, 2 additional clips of the televised show were used as "trivia". Graham writes "The other two are from UK quiz shows both shown on BBC1. The first was Every Second Counts hosted by Paul Daniels - the theme was played to contestants and they had to guess the programme - they got it wrong by saying it was the The Day of Triffids!! The final programme was Telly Addicts, hosted by Noel Edmonds. A sequence of clips from a certain year was shown to contestants. The clip was from series 1 where the three boys are in the abandoned house looking at the City of Gold for the first time - the tripod has tracked them and to escape, the boys set the house on fire. The clip was shown without sound - a pop song from the year was playing instead. The contestants on the show guessed the year but not the programme.
The Tripods was also featured in trailers and other BBC reviews, some not as favorable as others. "Graz" wrote recently on the League of Freemen listserv, "The BBC review shows, 'Points of view' and, 'Did you see..' both featured extensive though quite unfavorable reviews."
