Greetings Freemen.
This week, there has been a lot of excitement and speculation about our meeting in
Brighton in September. It seems that the Wednesday Chat Room was abuzz with it. Before I
go any further, "Thankyou" to Graz who tirelessly provides us with the minutes of the Chat
every week, and who really scored points on his humourous approach this week with flying
colours.
There are no dates or venues set for the meeting at the moment. A venue WAS found; a
sea-front hotel who are very happy to pull shutters down on a large section of their bar
area to give us an exclusive "members only" facility at no cost. The problem is that they
expressed that it was important that we chose a weekday to have our meeting as their
Fridays and weekends are very busy and they could not afford to give up the space during
those times.
This is unfortunate as they were quite happy for us to have a small exhibition of props and
costumes and could offer security for the surprise that I am planning for you all.
The second problem this venue posed was that their licence prohibits anyone under the
age of 18 on the premesis...even on their terrace at the front of the building.
I am continuing my search for a more suitable venue, but would be grateful for your
feedback on the first so that I may judge the viability of it for our purposes.

The venue in most respect sounds ideal,except for the
weekend issue.
I would imagine that holding the main
surprise/exhibition on any other time apart from a
weekend would be difficult for most,and certainly our
oversea's visitors.
This could be a major stumbling block...in order to
keep our gathering private,yet on a weekend...most
publicans are going to look at profits overall,as
opposed to a "one off"
How about a pub,a little further from the main town
area?
One that might welcome a "income" from our freemen
pals. I am almost certain Beer! is on the itinary for
D and Sven at least.
I know a campsite is being sought,but perhaps with
your local knowledge Adrian you could suggest some
local villages with, a pub and campsite nearby,so we
can narrow the search.
