Hi Sam,

Just thought I'd drop you a line and see how you are. Is the good weather treating you well? I recall last year you were
glad to see the back of the winter. I too loathe it! Sunny days are here again.

How am I? Not well, I'm afraid -- in fact rather worse. Crumbling at the centre now, not just at the edges.

I was alerted recently to a possibility that the BBC might be issuing Series 2 this year, and have passed that on to my
agent.

It seems he is worse than he was last year when he had his operation.

Sam says he appreciates our wishing him well, but he would rather not be inundated with cards and messages. He says he's
not good at being sympathised with!

I guess it kind of reminds him of where he's at with his health, which, I must admit, hadn't even occurred to me.

So if you haven't yet put your card in the post to me, please don't do it. We must respect Sam's wishes.
